Now we are off to dinner to share the news with Fay, Jerry, Eric, Carrie, Daniel, Nick, and Makaela. I'm not sure who was more relieved to no longer keep the secret, me or Kelly. Poor Kelly had to keep the secret while being around most of them throughout the entire 2 months that she knew! Thank you Kelly!

Telling the Abraham's
February 6, 2009 - Finally, I thought this day would never come. We get to WI and can't wait to share the news. I took our recent ultrasound picture and put it in a picture frame that said, "Grandpa's Pride and Joy." I had my Dad open his birthday present. As he's staring at the picture, I asked him if he knew what it was. He asks, "A baby picture?" I then say "An ultrasound baby picture" Patti figures it out and is obviously excited, I'm not sure that my Dad had figured it out yet. It was too cute. Once he realized that in fact his only daughter is pregnant, he is beaming with joy.
February 2
February 2 - This ultrasound appointment was just awesome! Our baby actually looks like a baby! As Bill looked at the screen, he said, "Wow, it's so real now, we're having a baby!" I couldn't stop smiling. The baby had it's legs crossed and was sleeping. The heartbeat was 165. The sleepy little thing didn't want to wake up, so after many attempts to wake the little one, the tech finally had me stand up and do some toe touches. That did the trick!! The baby was moving around all over the place. It was the coolest thing I had ever seen. I still couldn't believe that what we were looking at was really our baby and it was in my tummy! Now we were ready to head to WI to finally tell my family and friends up north!
January 9, 2009
January 9 - Another ultrasound appointment, and everything is looking good! I decided to share the news at work. I would have to tell them before my upcoming annual trade show, so why not spill the beans. I was still feeling guilty about telling people and my family not yet knowing the joyous news. I had it set in my mind that I wanted to tell them in person. So, I had to keep the secret a litte while longer. Bill and I were flying up to WI February 6. It was the hardest secret I ever kept!
Telling Bill's Mom
Talk about timing . . . we had an ultrasound on Christmas Eve and left with a nice picture of our little one. We were now off to New Smyrna Beach to spend Christmas with Mary and Dave. I decided to put the picture in a frame that said, "Grand Kisses, Grand Cuddles, Grandchild."
We gave her the gift as soon as we arrived. She was of course very excited over the news of her first grandchild. It was a great visit, and a great Christmas.

Let's start from the beginning
Despite the fact that we had been trying to get pregnant, I was still in disbelief when the 1st pregnancy test was positive . . . so I took 2 more! We were so excited! Then I was nervous, scared, happy, then back to excited, and that was just within the first 5 minutes! :)
I had some bleeding at 5 weeks. We went in for an ultrasound. I don't even remember how I felt when the doctor told us that there were two sacs - twins! I do remember how Bill reacted, he said, "I feel like I just won the lottery!" I said, "You better win the lottery!"
The doctor warned us that it was very early, and there would be a chance of us having 0, 1, or 2 babies. We would have to wait until my next appointment 2 1/2 weeks later to really know for sure. Within the next 2 1/2 weeks I experienced more bleeding. At the next ultrasound on Christmas Eve, we saw one healthy baby on the screen. It was a happy and sad moment. Although the thought of twins was overwhelming, I had started to get used to the idea. Of course the thought that a possible baby was now gone was saddening, however, we were so thrilled to see that we had not lost both babies.
