We're Home!
I can't tell you how nice it is to be sitting here typing this blog entry with my daughter next to me in her bassinet. Adelyn is doing great! We had a nice send off at the hospital and an uneventful ride home. We are enjoying the heck out of her and having a hard time putting her down :) We will go on our first field trip tomorrow morning for her first doctor appointment with her pediatrician.
The question I've been getting a lot, is "What next?" We are leaving for Philly on September 13 and she will have her surgery on September 16. Dr. Adzick will remove the lower lobe of her left lung, which is now consumed by the CCAM. She truly is a miracle, and all your prayers have worked to get her this far, so please continue to keep her in your prayers.

Look! No Feeding Tube!
Well, Little Miss Adelyn decided today that she doesn't need her feeding tube anymore, so she took it out . . . herself! Thankfully she has been doing so great with her bottle feeds, they decided it didn't need to go back in. It was so awesome to see her face without any tubes and tape. If she continues to do well through the weekend, we may be welcoming her home early next week.

Adelyn is doing great, she is now 5 lbs. 12 oz! After a few discouraging days with her bottle feeds, she is now doing wonderful! All it took was some added thickener to the breast milk, and feeding her on her right side. She finished 5 out of her last 6 bottles. We are so proud of her and hope this means a good possibility of her coming home late next week.
Do they make ear plugs for babies? She is already trying to cover her ears to block out Daddy's snoring :)

We all had a great weekend! There is talk of Adelyn possibly coming home within the next week! Of course this will all depend on her progress with her bottle feeds. She's doing great, but not real consistent. She also can't go home until she's gone 5 - 7 days without having a "brady." A brady is when she stops breathing and her heart rate drops below 80. She had one last night during a bottle feed. Since they have been trying a bottle for every feed, she gets tired more easily, and that increases her chances of having a brady. So, it's tough to find a happy medium. We want her to eat more out of a bottle so she can go home, but we don't want her to work too hard and have a brady. At any rate, she will be re-evaluated tomorrow to determine a possible discharge date. Keep us in your prayers! We are soooo ready for her to be home with us!

Adelyn had a great visit with Noni on Sunday! She's doing much better with her bottle feeds. She finished an entire bottle for mommy tonight! She will now try a bottle with every other feed.
She got a bath tonight . . . after she messed all over herself. She's getting a reputation in her NICU room :)

All is well . . .
Yesterday Adelyn got some of Daddy's blood. Her red blood cell count was low from the nurses taking so much blood from her since birth for all the needed tests. Today her color was much better and she had a bit more energy for her bottle feeds. She is filling out very nicely and is now 4 lbs. 13 oz!

Big Progess!!
We just need her to progress on her bottle feeds so we can get that feeding tube out. She has a heart echo scheduled for tomorrow, so we'll see if the PDA valve has closed. We are desperately hoping it has so she doesn't need to go through a procedure to clamp it shut.

Little Miss Adelyn is doing well. They moved her feeding tube to her nose since she hated it in her mouth. She kept gagging on it and trying to pull it out. The last few days she wasn't drinking too much out of the bottle, only about 3 cc's, but tonight she drank about 13 cc's. So I think she'll do better without the feeding tube in the way.
